AVCA’s maiden virtual conference; the AVCA 2021 Conference, opened on Tuesday, April 20th, 2021, with amazing panel discussions and knowledge-sharing between leading industry practitioners. The conference theme “Resilience, Resurgence & Results” summarizes the position of the African private equity industry, as AVCA celebrates 20 years of collaboration, growth, and support with key stakeholders in the industry.
Okechukwu (Okey) Enelamah, Chairman, ACA, was a speaker at the first Fireside Chat of the conference, themed: African Private Equity Industry Pioneers. This session sponsored by ACA convened some of the pioneers that contributed to laying the foundation of the African Private Equity Industry. The insightful discussions explored their motivations and learnings with investing in African private equity and how the industry has evolved over the past 30+ years.
One of the highlights from the discussion which emphasized the role of private capital as a force for good was captured by Okey, “Private equity (PE) in Africa is smarter. The fundamentals of Africa remain, and PE has matured. People are looking to make some money, but they really care and are passionate about creating impact.”

ACA to Speak at the AVCA 2021 Conference
The countdown to the much-anticipated PE industry event; the African AVCA 2021 Conference has begun. This year, ACA will be contributing to the conversations at the conference scheduled to hold from April 20th – 23rd, 2021, through key speaking roles.
Okechukwu Enelamah, Chairman, ACA, will join other global leaders and private equity experts in discussions as pioneers of the African PE industry and will share insights on opportunities and industry trends in recent times. ACA celebrates International Women’s Day (IWD) 2021
For the women at ACA, it was a memorable maiden celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD) 2021 on March 8, 2021.
The event focused on celebrating ACA women and involved fun and engaging conversations around personal experiences during the pandemic. Also, in line with the IWD theme this year, #ChoosetoChallenge, ACA women identified issues that affected women around the world that they personally committed to challenging.
The International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global movement dedicated to celebrating progress, raising awareness, and showcasing commitment towards strengthening gender equality and empowerment of all women.
