Yemisi Akinbo, Principal ACA, was a speaker in a Thematic Stream segment on Healthcare, at the AVCA 2021 Conference. The discussions held on the second day of the conference centered around investments in the healthcare sector. The panel shared insights based on their experience in the space, the challenges in Africa, as well as the opportunities yet to be tapped.
In discussing the outlook of the sector, one of Yemisi’s highlights was that “Healthcare has a lot of opportunities but the lack of capital and funding discourages skilled people from joining the sector to make it more attractive. This is why we need specialist funds to scale the industry.”
